Lions Clubs International is the worlds largest service club organisation, with a network of 1.4 million men and women in more than 210 countries and geographical locations. We serve where we live, as well as globally, and we have fun doing it.
Though well known for its successful initiatives in vision health, Lions service is as diverse as its members. We meet all sorts of needs, from assisting the elderly to helping victims of natural disasters.
Lions give 100 percent of donations to our causes. We cover all our costs through our dues. Lions make a difference everywhere. Whether by organising a pancake breakfast fundraiser or building a wheelchair ramp for someone in need, we are a hands on organisation.
Bourne Lions are agroup of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving their communities.
to become a Lion is to become an active volunteer, a member of a respected international organization, a leader in your community and a friend to people in need.
We organise fundraising events, find other ways of raising money and then seek suitable causes to support locally in the Bourne and District area, Nationally and Internationally.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is: "To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international co-operation".

REMEMBER: 90% of all money raised by Bourne Lions goes back to support our local community. The other 10% helps the International Community.

What We Do
Message in a bottle
The Lions Message in a Bottle scheme is a simple idea designed to encourage people to keep their personal and medical details on a standard form and in a common location – the fridge. Whilst it is focused on the more vulnerable people in our community, anyone can have an accident at home, so this scheme can benefit anyone, including you.
Humanitarian need
Lions Clubs International Foundation grants funds to aid humanitarian efforts that transform lives of people locally and around the world. In particular initiatives have helped over 30 million people to avoid serious vision loss. Named the world’s leading non-governmental organisation with which to partner by a Financial Times independent survey, Lions can be found helping wherever there is an environmental or humanitarian disaster.
Youth programmes
We empower the next generation with our youth programmes. Lions Clubs support local sporting events, recognise young people for their inspirational accomplishments, help develop leadership skills, and develop vital Lifeskills educational resources
Supporting others
We work with local authorities, health service providers, community groups and many other organisations to help identify and support those who will benefit from the assistance of Lions Clubs. We are proud to support disability games, create life-enhancing memorable moments, help those facing financial difficulties and participate in community celebrations in different cultures.
Health initiatives
An extensive range of health-oriented initiatives are supported by Lions Clubs locally, nationally and internationally. In particular we support efforts to control and prevent diabetes, help the emergency services with Message in a Bottle, support blood cancer research and recycle used spectacles.
Partner projects
Lions Clubs are proud to be chosen as a partner by small, local organisations as well as major national and international companies, charities and humanitarian bodies. We help with fund-raising campaigns and logistical support to achieve things that would not happen without our help.
Community activities
Lions apply talent, know-how and skills to support activities at the heart of local communities. We are creative, imaginative, resourceful and reliable. We get involved with community sports, fun-filled events, traditional fund-raising activities, carnivals, parades and all manner of seasonal initiatives.
