\nThe 1940s, An Evening of Music and Dance<\/h3>\n

2015\u00a0 marked the 70th Anniversay of the end of the second world war, Bourne Lions held their first \"1940s Evening of Music and Dance, at the Corn Exchange, 3 Abbey Road, Bourne. Entertainment was provided by The Tweedie Sisters. \"UnionPerforming as the Andrew Sisters\u00a0 and supported by the Blitz Dancers.<\/p>\n

2016 brought the sounds of\u00a0 \"swing\" by The Huntingdon Big Band who entertained those attending with the nostalgic tunes by\u00a0 Glenn Miller and other bands of the time. The Huntingdon Big Band returned again to entertain in 2019.
\nIn 2018 the singing duo \"The Dreambelles\" entertained those who came to listen to their rendering of war time songs, filling the venue with atmosphere and nostalger of a time long past but never forgotten.<\/p>\n

2020 celebrated the 75th anniversay of the end of second world war, our annual event returned, by popular demand with \"The Dreambelles\" Two very talented ladies, Amanda Watton and\u00a0 Lucy Crunkhorn, performing songs of wartime favourites.<\/p>\n

2022: Brings to the venue, Paula Marie a talented young singer who will\u00a0 entertain\u00a0 our popular 1940s evening with favourite classic songs from the era, together as always the Blitz Dancers\u00a0 who will get you on the dance floor\u00a0 to the sounds of \"Swing\" and the \"Jitterbug\" and other popular dances of the time.<\/p>\n

The 1940s uniforms and costumes of the era adds to the evenings atmoshere, and is the desirable dress but not essential.
\nTickets are limited and include a Fish and Chip Supper and are on sale at Harrison & Dunn Hardware Store, 34 North Street Bourne, PE10 9AB.<\/p>\n

The success of this evening has become an annual event in the Bourne Lions Calendar, and praised by many as one of the best 1940s evenings in South Lincolnshire.
