Bourne Lion visits Australia Lions Club

Several Club members of the Booragoon Lions Club, Australia, recently enjoyed a cafe dinner with Lion Steve Wilson from Bourne Lions and partner Annette. Steve and Annette were visiting family in Perth.

The photo left shows Steve (centre), Booragoon Lions Club President Paul Tomas (left) and Past District Governor Allan Cooper exchanging bannerettes.

The Bourne Lions Club’s bannerette incorporates a “racing car flag” design based on the history of their town.

The racing car marques English Racing Automobiles (ERA) and British Racing Motors (BRM) were both founded in Bourne by Raymond Mays, an international racing driver and designer. ERA started in 1934 and BRM’s first car was unveiled in 1949 at Folkingham Airfield.
